Giuseppe Verdi-200th BIrth Anniversary(2013)

Giuseppe Verdi(1813-1901), Italian operatic composer; born in La Roncole, a village near Busseto, Italy, on October 9, 1813; died in Milan on January 27, 1901. The year 2013 marks his bicentennial birth anniversary. Verdi composed a total of over 20 operas, these including Oberto, Nabucco, I Lombardi, Ernani, Attila, Luisa Miller, Steffelio, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Les vepres siciliennes, Simon Boccanegra, Un Ballo in Maschera, La forza del destino, Macbeth, Don Carlos, Aida, Otello and Falstaff, they are all still very popular today.
During 2013-2014 the following 27 countries have issued postage stamps, souvenir sheets, special envelopes as well as special post marks to commemorate Verdi's 200th birth anniversary.
